I am a science nerd in a physiology department - and I actually like my job. It definitely helps that I am working with good people (you know who you are).
However, my job contentment ebbs and flows with the production of data. No data - little job satisfaction.... Lots of talk about "This is why they put the "re" in research." Talk about banging your head against the wall, too.
Recently, I've had the good fortune to actually produce data. With good data, I mean, reproducible data - not necessarily the data that supported our hypothesis, but data that can be repeated in a second experiment.
So, today, I am thankful for data - and I am hoping to produce some more of it in a few minutes.
